Mike Hickman began selling BBQ specialties out of his tire shop, Hickman Auto and Tire, about a year ago. He saw such success that he knew he had to do something more with his food, so he bought a food truck and started selling all of his creations on the northwest side of Springfield in mid-2020. Everything Hickman serves is homemade—from the meats he smokes himself to the bleu cheese, ranch dressings and biscuits served with it. So, it’s not really surprising that he found himself selling out of food more quickly than he’d have liked. Then, when the Missouri winter came, he started losing customers: People don’t want to wait in outdoor lines, or eat outside, in the cold. So, in late December Hickman signed a lease on a brick and mortar space not far from where his food truck was previously located. BBQ and food my way is a SLOW process. Marinating, rubbing, slow smoking, braising, insane details to get those deep flavors. BBQ is tradition, family, friends and good times. BBQ is often associated with a beer or cocktail. Some of our evening specials will pair better with wine. I am not opening a restaurant nor a bar...I am opening your spot.
The spot you can bring your best friend and offer advise over a locally sourced beer. Share laughs or tears with your girlfriend over a bottle of Borealis wine. Celebrate a birthday with fine hand crafted cocktails.

We promise that our place will be an establishment that you can bring your grandmother or young child for breakfast, lunch or eventually dinner.
The spot you spend time and create good memories.
It can be a hang out but I will not be serving drunks, loud mouths, or rude people. Yes there is a pool room, it's separate. Yes, there is going to be liquor...as the owner I will NOT deal with wasted people.
It will be a spot to chill, relax, eat, hang out, etc but it will be under my discretion and if it attempts to become a neighborhood drunk hangout, I will shut off the alcohol. I don't care if it's there or not.
